Hello World and all that inhabit it! My name is Katlynn, but you can call me KK, everyone else does. I am millennial with imposter syndrome. I may be 33 in age but most days I believe I am still 21, like someone just dropped me on this planet and said, “go be an adult and do adult things” without any sort of explanation as to how or why.
I have a partner of nearly 3 years (talking of marriage in the future) who has an 8 year old daughter. I also have a 12 year old rescue mutt named Beau and a 2 year old leopard gecko named Carl. Mostly I spend my days working for a wonderful company as a remote worker and when I am not you can find me being mostly a hermit at home either reading a new fantasy/romance novel, finding new recipes to make for dinner or cross-stitching while watching true-crime documentaries. I am an introvert and my spirit animal according to my partner is a squirrel or chipmunk. I fidget and get sidetracked easily. I may live in Colorado but unless the temperature is 75 degrees or below you likely will not see me just roaming about outside. I’m a winter baby, born just before Christmas and I LOVE the cold and snow. When someone asks me how I could like the cold, I just say “Its easy to add layers and blankets if you’re cold, but if your hot there are only so many layers you can take off until its inappropriate to be in public.”
This blog is away to express the ups and downs, joys and hardships of being a new step mom, a pet parent and navigating all of life’s adventures as an “adult” in this world where everything is expensive and people are easily offended. I might eve sprinkle a few book reviews in along the way if i come across one worth telling everyone about.
Thanks for being here, and i hope you enjoy my insights and ramblings.
